Cast: Matthew Twining, James E. Foley, Jack Carlisle, Mark Ian Miller, Greg Lyckowski, Derek Phipps, Tanya Dempsey, Keary Ann Bixby
Director: David DeCoteau
2002
As far as horror goes, this is frighteningly bad. However, I did enjoy the cast and the eye candy! There's a twist ending that's a bit depressing, blurring the lines of reality and afterlife.
Story: Corey Peterson has just started a new school, Hallows End High aka "Halloween High," following a traumatic incident in his own life. Surprisingly he becomes the center of attention from both the jocks and the outcasts who all want to befriend him. His first day of school, there's already been a murder, soon followed by another. Corey teams with Mason to solve the mystery.
Gay Factor: This film oozes with homoeroticism and gay undertones even though none of the characters are specifically outted as gay. Perry and Mason seem the gayest of the group, particularly Mason. When Mason introduces himself to Corey, he puts his arm around him for nearly the entire duration of their conversation; later in the movie he's nearly spooned behind Corey as they talk, then he suggests they run away together (to avoid the murders). Perry also gets a bit touchy feely with Corey. Corey has an erotic dream about being part of the group with the jocks, but instead of just a sex dream with the hot blond chic, he dreams of a group scenerio with all the jocks in their undies. This is another film by DeCoteau, so lots of underwear or shirtless shots including a shower scene that really isn't needed for the story except to give us a view of some hot hunks.
