Personally, this is one of my favorite horror films in the monster genre, outside of the slasher flicks, which are my favorite. Definitely check this one out! It was also quite successful at the box office, earning $63 Million.
Story: Four days after the original film, a new group of teens falls prey to the Creeper, a monster who hybernates for 23 years but then has 23 days to feed. It's the 22nd day of his feeding frenzy. The teens can run and hide but he smells their fear and can sniff them out from anywhere. Their only hope of survival is a local farmer and his son, who have set out to kill the Creeper in revenge for his killing of the farmer's other son.
GAY FACTOR: Other sites list this one as "unintentionally gay" so here goes.
Unlike most horror films that focus on stalking naked chics, this one centers around a group of hunky jocks. The monster only seems to stalk the sexy males. There's a questionable gay character, Izzy, "Is he or isn't he." Near the end of the film comes a partial explanation for why Izzy was at a gay bar, but it still doesn't address if he is or isn't. The guys repeatedly sing their fight song about "fighting cocks" then when they become stranded they decide to strip their shirts and layout for a tan together. Multiple groups of shirtless guys going to pee together which suddenly becomes the best time to accuse each other of being gay. Back on the bus, one of the jocks complains to Izzy "Thinking you're going to come on to me and every other swinging dick on this bus makes me nervous!" Finally, we come to the film's writer/director, Victor Salva. In 1988, Victor Salva was convicted of sex with an underage boy; during filming he wasn't allowed to be alone with children on the set.
