This one is pretty bad, a seemingly pointless killing spree, till the end when we get a peak at what tipped Izzy over the edge.  The best part of this film is the small role from Stephen Geoffreys, 17 years after his departure from film.  Stephen Geoffreys is best remembered for his role in the original Fright Night and some may remember his brief stint with gay porn afterwards.  Don't mix this one up with the Masters Of Horror episode Sick Girl, which also features 2 lesbians. 


Story:  A single girl, Izzy, is left alone to raise her younger brother, Kevin, while her older brother is off to service in the war in Iraq.  Izzy suddenly snaps and goes on a massive killing spree.

Gay Factors:  Izzy would appear to be a lesbian except that she also shows signs of being in love with her older brother.  In one scene she torturously rapes and kills another girl using a strap-on made with a real severed penis and a spike.  Plus, as I said above, the film features a small role by Stephen Geoffreys; Geoffreys played "Evil Ed", the "gay" kid in Fright Night and after leaving mainstream films, he went on to star in several gay porns.

Here's another I haven't seen yet, so sorry for an incomplete review, but i'm still in the pre-Halloween rush.  Here's what I hear.....this one is extreme low budget with extreme violence, full frontal nudity and real, unsimulated sex.  Viewer reviews seem to be positive.




Story:  A writer looking for the next plot of his next story, instead gets kidnapped by a serial killer.  The two become involved in an affair of forbidden romance, sexual deviance and a common pleasure of torturing others.

Hellraiser

Hellraiser is a true horror classic, based on the novel The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker and introduces one of the best known villains in horror:  the demonic Pinhead.  The film is also written and directed by Clive Barker.  Now, over twenty years after its release, some of the effects may be a put off to new generations of horror fans used to super realistic digital effects, but it remains a fan favorite and ruled the horror scene in the time of its release.  Hellraiser spawned a total of 9 films and there are currently plans for a remake of this classic.


Story:  Frank Cotton, a self proclaimed hedonist, buys an antique puzzle box which he believes is a gateway to new carnal pleasures but instead it's a gateway to hell.  When Frank goes missing, his brother's family moves into his house.  The unfaithful wife is actually Frank's former lover and when she discovers the zombie of her ex-lover, she promises to bring him blood sacrifices to restore his body.  Murder follows in an attempt to revive Frank but even if he can be revived, they still must deal with the demonic cynobites and the sadistic Pinhead.

Gay Factor:  The film itself doesn't have any gay themes but its writer/director, Clive Barker, is an out homosexual, and also a legend among horror creators, thus earning this film a spot amongst our gay horror films.

Frat House Massacre

A torturing and blood filled homage to the grind house and slasher films of the 70’s & 80’s. Beginning in 1978, a group of sadistic frat boys take hazing to the limits, killing the pledges that are unworthy of brotherhood. The following year, Bobby pledges the same frat planning vengeance over his dead brother. The story moves from torture hazing to the death to old fashioned slasher, but Bobby isn’t the only person seeking a bloody vengeance against this fraternity.

No camp or comedy in this one, just hot boys and blood soaked torture.

Sex/Nudity: Several shirtless guys, guys in underwear, a few male ass shots, a few very quick flashes of penis (really only noticeable in slow motion).

Gay Factor: This is a straight story with plenty of homo erotica. Filled with shirtless guys and boys in briefs (albeit they were baggier 70s style briefs). Perfect for any fan of hazing, spanking or bondage. There’s two frat bros sitting on the couch with arm around the other. Also, a funny line when Bobby says he has to pee, Michael says “I’d hold it for you but Deb’s coming over to fuck so you’ll have to manage without me.“ Then there’s Tim….

Tim is the unstated, sexually repressed gay of the group, never actually said but you figure it out. In a house meeting he lounges on the couch filing his nails till an argument ensues where he calls the other frat bro a “bitch.” When a pledge is hanging tied, Tim is the one to climb in front of him yanking off his briefs and then paddling him. Later, Tim is showing hiding in a doorway jerking off watching his frat brother have sex with a girl - apparently a pattern as Mark mentions it later, knowing Tim is a peeper and he’s tired of it. Finally at the end, Tim has a shirtless guy tied in his bed at a party (torturing and planning to kill him, but in Tim’s bed nonetheless, when all the other pledges had been hazed in the basement…..perhaps there was a little gay something off screen?).

Star Jon Fleming has also appeared on Will & Grace and been in gay action on Dante’s Cove. Jim Ford had an appearance in the comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry and actor Ryan Ross (Drater) is reportedly gay in real life.
