Part of the 8 Films To Die For series, this one's a total gorefest & bloodbath. Not really a typical gay movie, most of the cast is straight except two of the main characters, but definitely worth watching. Better than many of the low budget gay horror films. The first couple kills come totally unexpected and original. There is some humor but it comes off in the right places. This one's not very campy except to the extent that zombies always seem a bit campy. Many of the main characters have to overcome varying forms of bigotry. A definite political message to this film, but it doesn't get in the way of the good horror. Moreso, it adds to the conflict of trying to survive alongside each other.
Story: Tom and his boyfriend Lance are returning to Tom's hometown, Port Gamble, for a visit to mom and to finally come out of the closet. Local school teacher, Cheryl Banks, is planning a political run for mayor to overturn the longtime mayor, Hal Burton. An American born Iranian girl is struggling with her father's desire to embrace his old fashioned middle eastern values. Everyone's plans get put on hold when the town gets overtaken with zombies which the government calls a viral infection caused by terrorism. Now they all must band together to survive the living dead.
Sex/Nudity: the 2 guys kiss. No sex or nudity.
